Southfield, Michigan firefighters were confronted with heavy
smoke conditions upon arrival at this one-story commercial
occupancy. An aggressive initial attack and primary search
were conducted. Fire passed the division wall and the trench
which was cut on the opposite side of the division wall.
Heavy involvement of the structure forced firefighters to
switch to a defensive strategy. Mutual aid was provided by
Birmingham TWP, Bloomfield TWP, Royal Oak FD, and Farmington
