Four photos below: Heavy winds hit California resulting in extensive damage and power outages statewide. The dentist office in the first photo was literally split in half by a falling tree. Although the building was occupied at the time, miraculously, no one was injured. The fire photo was taken from the Fire Nuggets northern California headquarters and was a little too close for comfort. Surprisingly, air operations were conducted on this fire despite 50-100 mph winds. An extremely aggressive attack prevented a disaster. The courage displayed by airtanker and helicopter pilots was breathtaking. Photos were taken in Tuolumne County by Ted Corporandy.
