Residential Ladder Company Operations
September 11-13 | Due West, SC
This 20-hour course is designed to develop the fundamental skills required to operate on a residential fire; as a ladder company firefighter through realistic hands-on training.
The first half-day will focus on the fundamentals of forcible entry, ensuring students establish a solid foundation in basic techniques, tool selection, and coordinated operations. Days 2 and 3 will take place in a 2,400-square-foot acquired structure, where students will apply their skills in realistic, limited-visibility environments. The final portion of the course will focus on roof operations. Students will begin on a roof prop to develop proper techniques before progressing to both walkable and non-walkable roof operations on acquired structures.
Training will include: forcible entry, primary search, vent-enter-search (VES), ladder company operations, vertical ventilation, and scenario-based evolutions and more.
