CLASS DESCRIPTION

S-219, Firing Operations, is an NWCG-certified wildland firefighting course that trains individuals for the Firing Boss (FIRB) position. It teaches students how to safely plan, execute, and evaluate ignition operations—such as backfires and strip burns—on wildfires and prescribed burns
