Fire 9125 / CRN 3088 / Spring 2024

This course is designed to give people that are traveling in the winter backcountry basic information about weather, snowpack, and terrain factors which contribute to avalanche hazards. This course is for ski patrollers, search and rescue personnel, and anyone that wants to travel in a winter mountain environment.

Pre-Requisite: Student must be physically and technically capable of safely and proficiently ascending/descending slopes equivalent to an intermediate run at a lift service ski area on skis or snowboard, in highly variable snow conditions
